Driftwood Beach, Jekyll Island Elopement

Jul 11, 2025 | Elopements

When this amazing couple reached out to me on my website, they stated that they were both teachers (retired and active) in New York and they owned a lavender farm. I knew just from reading there inquiry email that I wanted to work with them. I obviously always have a soft spot in my heart for teachers as I am one myself and can connect to them!

We chatted on the phone for our wedding consultation call, and they shared that they chose to Southeast Georgia for their elopement because they bought a land in Camden County to eventually retire to one day. This made the area very special for them. As they stated, they found love late in life but they wanted to do something special to celebrate that love.

We went back and forth on where to get them married. At first, we were thinking that we could do Cumberland Island and take the ferry over. This idea was amazing but the logistics ending up being a little to difficult for the time of year they wanted to get married.

After months of planning, the day had arrived and we were to get them married on Driftwood Beach on Jekyll Island at sunrise. On the morning of the wedding, it not only rained but it POURED. We delayed their ceremony time until the rain died down a little. Once the rain settled, we went out to the beach and got their beach elopement started.

Even with the clouds, their Driftwood Beach Elopement ended up being absolutely stunning.
